Favorite Movies
on: December 29, 2016, 05:49:54 AM
The passing of so many stars got me to thinking about my favorite movies. Here's an expanded baker's dozen of films I've each seen at least a dozen times. Most of them are rather old, but then I'm rather old.

Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) Errol Flynn
Casablanca (1942) Bogart & Bergman
The Court Jester (1956) Danny Kaye
Day of the Jackal (1973) Edward Fox
Fantasia (1940)
The Great Escape (1963) McQueen & Attenborough
The Magnificent 7 (1960) Brenner & McQueen
The Music Man (1962) Preston & Jones
The Quiet Man (1952) Wayne & O'Hara
Singin' in the Rain (1952) Kelly & Reynolds
Stagecoach (1939) John Wayne
Star Wars (1977) Ford, Fisher, et al
The Train (1965) Burt Lancaster
The Wizard of Oz (1939) Judy Garland

I watch a lot of old italian movies. Western,  Giallo and Horror.
If i had to pick a few:
Good,  Bad and the Ugly - probably the best movie ever made.
Suspiria
Tenebrae
Django
Hellraiser

Two good Hollywood movies i like are:
Mad Max Fury Road
Deadpool

Of course there a many more,  i kind of lost it after the 1000th Dvd ( literally)
Can't even remember some dvds i have.

My all time favorite movie has to be
Bunraku - Josh Hartnett, Woody Harrelson, Ron Perlman and more. - Always liked Western/Easterns and I simply love how the story is told.

A special place in my heart has
Cargo - Martin Rapold - Made in Switzerland, this Sci Fi / Space movie is really great (although I might be slightly biased).

Knockin' on Heaven's Door - Til Schweiger, Jan Josef Liefers, Moritz Bleibtreu - Yep, my top comedy recommendation is from Germany :D
Terminator 1&2 - Schwarzenegger at his best
Alien 1 & 3 - Sigourney Weaver - Very scary, the monsters and loneliness in the black.
Wild Things - Kevin Bacon, Matt Dillon, Denise Richards - That one really got me :salute:
Foolproof - Ryan Reynolds - Heist comedy, do I need to explain more?
How to rob a bank - Nick Stahl - Unassuming Nick Stahl as an unassuming, stumbling passer by.
Inside Man -  Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, Jodie Foster - Top bank heist movie
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.
