Greenwood with a pic of my old band 'Heavy Load'. That's me on the left with the Tele Thinline. Lovely memories of playing with these fine fellows - this was one of our biggest and last gigs and my wife got some good pics of it. Especially like this one.

Not really sak related (though my pioneer was in my pocket as always), this is a Pic of me at one of my band's gigs about a year ago.

Thanks!

The bass is a 2017 Gibson EB model (bought in 2016 ).

I played in a trio called "poncho" and we did mostly original rock and roll tunes.  That pic was from one of a series of gigs we did at a bar in Cincinnati, OH last year.  The bar closed shortly after, not sure what that means...

Anyway, our band is now on a likely permanent hiatus. The drummer is on a year long trip traveling around the world, and the singer/guitarist is planning on moving to a different state.

It was good fun while it lasted!

You probably shook the foundations loose with that mighty bass Gus  :D

You could be in demand for another band if you wanted to continue playing.  Proper bass players are rare - usually it's guitarists filling in on bass because there are too many guitarists  :D

Thanks! I really enjoy playing bass, and prefer to play bass when in a band setting. Much more comfortable for me in that context for whatever reason.

With twins on the way, I'm going to hold off looking for another band for awhile. Maybe in a few months.

As for shaking a room, my current rig is a carvin bx500 head with a carvin 4x10 cabinet. It definitely does its part to accelerate the audience's hearing loss! ;)

Oh so true - back in a day I had a band and wrote music for it. Had to record both all guitar and bass parts myself because we just couldn’t find a bass player for years

Yeah, that seems to be the case in my area too.  Many, many guitar players, very few bass players.

The problem with that is the guitarists then play bass how they think it should be played - root notes all the way.

It's true I started out on guitar and have been trying to learn how to play bass like a bassist for years.

Here's some originals we did at a gig about a year ago.  The crowd noise is a bit much, but you get the idea.

You can consider this my audition for the MTO band.  :D

Nice setup! Is that a Keeley modded BD2? I have one and love it. The Musket is a fun pedal too.
