Well, since it seems I am not famous enough to have been killed in 2016 we are here again with the Donation Draw, and once again I am going to try to do something a bit different. As I mentioned in
a recent thread this month's Donation Draw is going to be the Gerber Center-Drive. Usually I do a bit of a preamble to get your attention before mentioning it, but as I have already spilled the beans that seems like a bit of a waste of time.
So we are giving away a multitool- how is that new? Well. before I get to that I want to reiterate that this was arguably the most interesting multitool of 2016- despite the
Victorinox Pioneer X winning the 2016 Multitool.org Multitool Of The Year by a fair bit, I personally feel the Pioneer X is sort of old hat as various modders have been making them for years. But, none of our modders have been making a Center-Drive, and originality has to count for something.
If you want to read my review of the Center-Drive, you can see it
HERE.
If you want to try it yourself, you are in luck, because that's what we are doing this month. I am offering
my Center-Drive, the exact one in these pictures and the one I reviewed to anyone who wants to try it out. Bear in mind, I have used it, so if you feel the need to use it hard and scratch it up, have at it. Use the crap out of it for a few days (please no more than a week) and then send it off to the next person on the list. If you are interested in trying it out, and maybe winning your own, donate a minimum of $10 to the
FORUM OPERATIONAL FUND and send me a PM with your address. I'll send MY Center-Drive to the first person that contacts me, and you will get your turn in the order I get your addresses.
But, I expect that one back after it's made it's rounds, however long that takes, because the winner of the contest will receive a
brand new in box Center-Drive, never even opened! Yup- the air inside is straight from the Gerber Factory in Portland, Oregon. And, it's the more expensive version with the bit set.
Of course, as usual, that Center-Drive only goes to a new home if we hit our goal of $275. Anyone who donates a minimum of $10 US is in the draw, and for every $10 you donate you get another chance to win. If we hit the goal
before midnight on January 15th (Forum Offset Time) then we'll come up with an Early Bird Prize- and if not then we won't, so there!
How's
that for doing something different?
