My dad confirmed he still has his, will get a look at it sometime soon.
The engraving on the side was supposed to be the member's number, there was a mix-up with their batch so they were just issued a knife, my dad used sanding paper to remove it.
They were convinced the knives were Swiss manufactured, but Aitor is Spanish?
My search (here on forum) shows a later South African Army Knife that's clearly Victorinox....or a direct copy.
I was still in nappies or just barely out, but I think those should be the years when SA was under international sanctions
