Hello all.
I have been collecting SAK for a while now. Today I received a small gift, a Wenger commander.
The funny thing is that it is the first time I see one with a metal inlay cross (as seen in the attached pic)
Has anyone come across one before? Any information?
Thanks,
Ehud.

Amici,
Very interesting indeed! All of my pre-Wenger models seem to have the cheesy sticker or some sort of silk screen  printing of their cross and shield.. Very cool..

Cheers,
Serge

I can't find many examples or info, but it has apparently been done on other Wengers.

I've taken a look at my Wengers. All cross and shields are painted, but the BSA logo on my S17 Forester looks like a metal inlay.

I saw the L.L.Bean one :), he has another white one in his blog but nothing in 85mm like mine
Another thing I just noticed, no keyring on my version

Cool. It appears to be brass?

Mine are all paint or that little aluminim piece with the red painted/screaned on it.  :tu:

EDIT: now I see its actually not brass color...optical illusion!

Have something similar on an old Wengerinox 3" with visible pins.

Nice photo! Was this a joint make between the two companies?

As far as I'm aware this is simply an old Wenger.

There are no signs of another logo on it, just plain red scales.  But maybe it was a part of a gift set or something.

 Maybe somebody sanded/rubbed off/swapped/changed the opposite scale because they didn't like the ADVERT, or just age if inked on? :D

I have done it a couple times.( and then again MAYBE NOT...LOL Ya never know)

I took a very close look, no sign of scale replacement, same wear on both sides.
There is also no evidence of sanding or change made to either one of the scales.
