Swisschamp with Leatherman Bit adapter
on: December 25, 2016, 09:53:00 PM
So I got my Swisschamp yesterday as a Christmas gift.

Last week (like some might have picked up) I got a modded Rebar with bit adapter.

According to some members (like poncho) the bit adapter fits the philips driver in a usable, but not perfect, way. TRUE!

Now, I don't know if anyone noticed this before, but the bit adapter fits the small flat screwdriver on the back layer PERFECTLY.
No wiggle, no play, perfect fit.
Just place the screwdriver diagonaly in the square opening of the bit adapter.

Just wanted to share this, since it might help others out that haven't noticed this earlier. :salute:

EDIT: just to show how decently it connects: I can lift the Swisschamp up by lifting it by the bit adapter!

Using it as a driver after closing it works surprisingly well!

Very nice idea  :tu:
Though for screwdriver bits I still prefer my idea in terms of simplicity, no adapters needed and it's an in-line use instead of back layer use ;) :

I did notice your post back then and liked your idea alot! :2tu:
Yet again, the adapter weighs next to nothing, can be used inline on the philips driver (so not on a SAK without inline philips) or as a screwdriver by itself.

Hum, if you can fit it with the inline Philips there is a good advantage there  :tu:
With other adapters you can also fit it and use it with the bottle opener flathead.
At the time I just wanted to eliminate the need for the adapter altogether  :P

Which is perfectly understandable in it's own way ;)

Thanks for the tip. I just tried the Leatherman adaptor with my Swisschamp and it is a perfect fit. It is nice to know that it will work with any of my Vics with the screwdriver on the back.

Should be in your profile settings...

I'm browsing through Tapatalk right now, so can't really write a step by step guide from the browser...

Oh! And welcome to :MTO: !

That bit adapter will work with the inline philips.  I have used it that way a few times.
