Case Russlock owners club
on: January 15, 2017, 03:40:40 AM
Here's a picture of my new Case Russlock from my trip to the museum in Bradford with my dad. I am loving this beast! I've never seen anything so cool before. I'm glad I didn't have more money, or I'd have bought the whole museum stock! :D. Does anyone collect or know a little more about this particular pattern?

I'm sure that someone on the forum knows more about it.
Attractive knife.
What's that part that says "tested"?
Got a picture closed, or part ways open?

That's the opening lever which is attached to the tang.

It's a cool design. I had a clip point one but sold it, a drop point has been on my list for a while. That one's a beauty!
May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

I have one and it looks good. However, the spring is too hard for OHO, and especially for a knife with a lock.

A Svord peasant has a similar look and is easier to open using one hand.

Al : "Women!"

Cool design but it doesn't look very practical since it takes over 3 minutes to open!  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

Here she is!! Great design! Once you learn how to open it, it is easy to operate and will never open accidentally. Plus its fun to hand it to your buddies and watch them get mad struggling to open it and then open it yourself with one fluid motion.

I have one with yellow Derlin handles and CV steel. It's a nice pattern, and I carry it on occasion. I'll have to dig it out, get a pic, and put it in my pocket. :tu:
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

A customer gifted one to me in 2004 ( they are date coded) with his company logo on the blade

It is a novel pattern  that was  designed with a one armed user in mind

You can press the protruding blade extension on a flat surface and pivot bade open with one hand without risking injury using only your fingers

It has a more unusual look when it is completely in the closed position

Back from the dead! I just picked up a stainless version with bermuda green scales. Think clover green, and that's  it. I like the form of it, and the springs have loosened up nicely.

Man, I hate you! I've got this one in my want list forever! You had to remind me I still haven't seen one in person.

Love the design, the opening mechanism is great.

It's definitely a neat pattern. Mine has loosened up quite a bit since it first showed up on my doorstep. Took me about two days to get over the lack of a nail nick, and I can now open and close it with one hand.

If you hold the Russlock like it shows in the video you can actually open the blade in one smooth move using only your thumb.

The only difference is you use the part of your thumb just above the crease in your thumb to push against the lever. This allows your thumb to continue around in the arc as the blade opens.

I always open mine using only my thumb.

I've always preferred the drop point version over the clip point.
Nice buy.

Over here, we don't get to even see them! When you do get some, the price is about 5 times that!

It's pretty strange, for a country where most of the population used to work in agriculture and it was common for people to carry pocket knives. About 3 or 4 decades ago, this habit awlmost disappeared and today anyone taking out a knife (even a SAK Classic) is frowned upon and asked: why do you carry a weapon?!
