The only MT I pocket carry is my Charge TTi.  If pocket carry is a must, then I'd say go with a Wave, or if you can find one for a good deal, the Charge TTi.  For belt carry, you'd be hard-pressed to find something better than either a Swisstool or a Spirt.

You can get pocket sheaths or sleeves for just about anything if that makes any difference to you. Also, im pretty sure if you are determined you can mod a clip on to just about any MT

Its all about where you put/divide stuff in your pockets. Today, i wore normal bluejeans and carried:

Spyderco Paramillitary 2
Leatherman Micra
Leatherman Signal
Ultratac K18 flashlight
Notebook/pen
Extra large bandanna
Wallet
Phone

All in my pockets with nothing on my belt and guess what.. i still had a pocket completely empty to carry anything else i was carrying! Also, im ocd about stuff flopping around in my pockets so none of that was going on either.
Make sure you make full use of your watch pocket! I can fit a Victorinox spirit in mine alone! Im not a super tall guy with big pockets either.

For me,  I don't usually pocket carry anything except coins and phone.  I put everything in my bag.  In some circumstances when I need to run out without my bag, the only tools i will carry will be a skeletool a or some 58mm SAK or small folders.

IMO, if we are asking for a one and only one tool for an average person like most of us,  I think it will be the Spirit.  It has its limitation and weakness but it covers the most that we would encounter.  Certainly, everyone has their own special needs so the spirit is not necessarily always the best  but it can really serve most daily purposes and if you pair it up with a small folder,  it will be nearly perfect.
