Greetings from Canada!
on: January 25, 2017, 04:03:01 PM
Hello all,

Just found your forum and I've been blown away by the idea's and knowledgeable people.

I saw the "Multitool light" in the mid 80's, buying an original LM PST, while all my colleagues were still getting knives. Few years later, went to a PSTII (Loved the half serrated blade) and, except for a few cuts, due to "non locking" blades (and you quickly learn how NOT to use them) it served me well until I retired in 2011.

During that time, I never really found one that suited me better. I found ST's and Waves too big, I did use a Pulse for a short while, but found the locking system a bit awkward, so went back to my trusted PSTII.

My kids and family were so used to me carrying it that I was always the "go to" guy whenever someone needed something fixed at family reunions. My son always carries his, and my daughter never leaves home without hers in the purse!

I'm sure I'll find much valuable information here and hope I can share experiences and tips with all !!!

Cheers!
Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt and the Hat, but what I'd give to go back...

Canada huh?  Sounds like an interesting place... :D

I'm in Ottawa now, but I just moved here from Halifax.  I've also lived in Montreal, Winnipeg, London, Toronto and others.  If ever there was a country that you needed quality multitool in, it's Canada!

Thank's everyone...

Grant you in Ottawa!...just a short commute from my place.  I hear you. Lived all my life around here, but traveled extensively accross this beautiful country of ours. Still do: Daughter lives & work in Toronto, my best friend is in New Brunswick.

Cheers!

Welcome!

Your daughter carries one??

If I ever have a kid, boy or girl, I hope I'll be able to get him/her as far too.

No such luck with my other half though...

Great to meet you!

We have a few folks in this area, and being fairly new here I'm always looking for neat places to explore so if you have any suggestions, please let me know.  I am mostly into kayaking, but I am open to hiking, swimming, hunting, fishing, shooting etc.  We go to Gatinuea Park a fair bit, we camped in Voyageur, we go to Fitzroy and Morris Island Conservation Center and we hiked up a large hill in Wakefield.  Oh yeah, and we go shooting in Limerick, although it's mostly archery, pellet guns and slingshots.  I'm not comfortable enough with the area yet to bring out things that go BANG....

Daughter carries it in the purse...At the very least, it makes the purse heavy should she ever need to swing it at someone.

As for the wife, she's got a Micra..Then why would she need one, she carries me around

Welcome from your neighbors from the south!
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.
