Be wary of USPS
on: April 14, 2017, 08:00:02 PM
Ordered a couple sets of scales. Showed up like this today.  First problem I've ever had with USPS. Is this from a sorting machine? The original envelope was completely in two. Only had one set of scales still in it.

Once in a while, stuffs happen. I once ordered a BO Rebar, only to have an empty tool box, rewrapped, and a note acknowledging the damage during sorting. I contacted the seller for money back, leaving him to deal with the USPS.

If I were in your shoes, I would take the issue to the seller first, since it looks like the packaging was inadequate. A couple rounds of tapping around the envelope would have avoided that.

That does make sense...

Normally I would, but this purchase was for a cause. I'm just gonna eat this one. I still got a new pair of black scales for an old Champ, so I'm happy about that. I guess what got me was the original envelope being torn completely in two. No note explaining anything. They just stuffed it all into another envelope and delivered it. I have to agree with David that I still trust the USPS over UPS any day.

Remember when they only had ponies to deliver packages..   :D

That is a bummer man. I feel for ya, or anyone that happens to. Sucks when your stoked on a delivery and you see that. But yes probably from a sorting machine. Letters ship better when flat. That thin paper doesn't fair well with unlevel abrasion. Much better to use small bubble mailer, but cost a tad more.
