A mod?
Love seeing these tool fans, all! (Image removed from quote.)First we have what I believe is a Swiss Army Brands Handyman (SABI 5041). It has:"cossbow" full-layer-width bladesmall spearpoint blade"version 2" metal filewood sawfish scaler w/rulerscrew scissorscap lifter without 90 degree stopcan openerfluted corkscrewold type backside fine SDreamer without sewing eyeIt's certainly 1985 or earlier but I'm not exactly sure this isn't a variant of the Champion. It has the same tool set as a 70s Champion but newer versions of the tools. It's got an SKF inlay, which is as extant company that still makes bearings. I'm currently calling it So Kool Fool but might have to change that when I change the scales. (They are both cracked) Only moments ago a 3-knife lot sold on ebay for $24 containing another SAK exactly like this, with SKF inlay. Cheers to whoever snagged that. (Image removed from quote.)Next up is a curiousity to me. It's a transparent light blue tinker. I believe this is simply a sun-faded sapphire model. What's odd to me is that the blade has the older "crossbow" tang stamp, but it is the narrower blade with spacer-bump on the outer liner. It's the only SAK I have with the old stamp but newer thin tang. Crossover year?(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)Lastly we have my 84mm MOD with:modern stamp main bladenail filewood saw84mm scissorscap liftercan openercork screw/mini driverreamer w/eyeIt has nylon scales which I really like. I'm considering adding a 5th layer with serrated blade and electrician blade, no back tool. Still don't have a name for this one.(Image removed from quote.)
A couple of oldies.
