According to that pdf it says the outrider has a liner lock now?  If so that will be a very popular model to have a liner lock 111mm with scissors.   Or are they considering their slide lock a 'liner' lock.  And will it have the locking cap lifter too?
Yes, looks all 111mm models will have a new type of cap lifter since this release.

After browsing carefully through the catalog i've confirm my initial thoughts, sadly nothing new on the cellidor 84/91mm Sak's, my main area of interest.
No new tools and no new models (apart from the watchopener)... :(

LOL you mean the wrench? Naahh... Even the Handyman is too thick for me, never mind the SwissChamp XAVT, that's one i would never buy  :ahhh

Now if they had put the wrench along with the inline philips in a 3 (max. 4) layer 91mm that would be another matter

I find it odd that they changed the Nomad and Centurion to the slide lock names Picknicker and Adventurer.  Good luck ordering one of those online and getting the correct version.

Most exciting catalogue since I first got hooked on SAK's years ago... as a great fan of the 111mm range and liner lock system.

All models with a bottle opener (cap lifter) seem to now have liner locks and the locking bottle opener/cap lifter; with new catalog numbers. The Locksmith seems to have gone one handed, too.

I am particularly eyeing off the new Outrider to have the scissors with the liner line and locking bottle opener - which I can then add the little screwdriver to in the corkscrew. Thinking I may even eventually pick up the Workchamp XL some time as well (my slide lock Hercules being my largest 111mm at the moment). A gutting blade seems to replace the pointed blade in the XL?

I have also ordered a slide lock Adventurer for the collection... for 'old times sake'.

The change from slide lock to liner lock also involves a change of tool layout. The main blade has moved to a middle layer where it was on the right previously. I've also noticed that the Hunter's awl no longer has the sewing eye.

I assume just by looking at the pics, the ex-slide locks also inherit the same openers as on the trekker and 93mm alox

Just realized something looking at the catalog again, where are the Evolution models S111, S16, Evo16....??
I mean, really...? They discontinued it?

Thanks for posting that Jaya and LeaF!

That linerlock Outrider is cool! Did they completely eliminate the slide lock?

Also that belt carrier on page 52 for the SwissTool looks interesting, p/n 4.0829 on page 67. I'll be looking for more info on that.

And this also confirms my conspiracy theory of why they put the nil nick on the wrong side for the pioneer x.  Same 3.0 mm pivot size as the 111mm so they can use the same scissors for both.  The normal nail nick scissors would have their nick blocked on the 111mm liner lock.

Thanks jaya and LeaF :salute:  Good to see Vic making new things.

Some interesting changes in the 111mm line :tu: It seems they're built purely on the Soldier chassis, using the same implements too. Makes sense. I like how the knife blade isn't on the far end of the handle on the liner lock models. I really like the 3-layer linerlock models -like the Forester- because, finally, the blade is centered on a SAK other than a Solo.

Too bad about the slide-lock type blade, though. I quite like that blade even though I couldn't bring myself to trust/like that locking mechanism.

Apart from the Farmer X(XX) mentioned above (:gimme:) I wish we see the return of the 108mm line, with scissors, in-line awl, clip point blade, rescue blade. :dd:

You're right, just checked and it was removed, they just added the black scales option to the standard model. However i never understood the reason why at least the thicker models don't all have plus scales with pen, the pin and corckscrew screw driver. The added cost, both from factory and for retail would probably be next to nothing.
Just as i can't understand why all 84/91mm models don't have the straight pin from factory, that costs virtually nothing. I mean if i go to my rep and ask for like 5 pins or so they will give them to me (no charge). They never even charge me for scissor's springs when i ask for like 5 of each size or so when ever i go there.

Some news on SWIZA knives.
There would be some new modells. First a all-black version.
Then it seems as SWIZA introduce a additional woodsaw
(modell D05/D06) and a Junior series.

I agree. I think that it would be great for every single 91mm model to have both a pin and a pen, and for them to integrate that into the larger models as well. I know that costs build up but id be willing to bay the (tiny I'm sure) premium for it. I guess if they did the pen on all the models though they couldn't up the price on the ones that do have it.

I'll have to agree on that too, but at leas for the pin i can't think on any reason to why they don't include it on every 84/91mm sak. I mean, the slot is on every current scales, a lot of say, 50 pins, would probably cost them like 10 cents or so. Just raise the price of every 84/91mm for like 20 cents each if they like, nobody would really care for example if they buy a new spartan for $20,00 or $20,99...
