Thanks for the info. From what ive seen so far there is still nothing if interesting to me personally on the list.
I expected to see some "actual" new models on the 91 and specially the 84mm line. Maybe some new alox 93 model. Meaning new tools/tool combinations.
This is just  regular old models with fancy new scales or special edition's for the most part. Great for collectors but of no interest for a user like me  :-\

Only a little more innovation than Leatherman

Victorinox needs young blood in his I+D+I department

Victorinox, I will give you what people is expecting from you:

- Get back Vic 84 mm scissors
- More 74, 84, 91 and 93 mm alox models
- Rambler alox
- More tools for 74 mm line!!!
- Bladeless Saks
- MULTITOOLS: Alternatives to LM Juice and Squirt

And over all:
- A custom SAK service
People will pay high prices for a Victorinox factory custom built SAK
Personalization of tools, scales, liners, layers...
Do this and you will be winners!!!

P.S.:
Innovation is not new alox colors and limited editions.
That is SAD and RIDICULOUS!!!

Nice, just saw it on Facebook too. Very curious about that Carbon one. XAVT? That's not new?
According to the Vic blurp it is "forged Carbon", so my hopes are up that it is really carbon and not just painted to look like carbon.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Corrected

- Rambler alox: Yes that I can get behind
- 74/84mm and the whole Ex-Wenger you can scrap for all I care. I d'rather they focus on fewer lines (58/91/93/111) but offer more varieties in those.
- Bladeless SAK: You got it in the new USB-drive SAKS :D
- Custom SAK: Love the idea but it will not happen. Several reasons why. Collectors are more willing to pay premium (you don't want to use a 300$ SAK as a hammer). Unlike limited runs, custom SAKs immediately loose all value and their re-sale value is more like a regular SAK.

Things I would like to see:
- Wenger Business Tool style Scissors in 91mm frame
- 91mm in alox

Actually the more specialized the tools get, the less useful they are. The flat screwdriver can perform so many functions, whereas a T25 can do exactly one thing and that is not the idea behind a SAK/MT
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Exactly, and what I found out yesterday. I needed to remove a hard drive from an old laptop for recycling. I have a (lone) CyberTool and things were going well until I came to the T6 screws that held the disc in the drive, the CT doesn't have one.

So I went to get my plus kit for my Spirit and it didn't have one!

I do have the cheapo set from Home Depot with the 4mm bits that fit the CyberTool, so I used that.  :tu: I now have the CT and a little bag of bits in my kit.

I could have used a big hammer too I suppose.  :D

Mine CT41 have one  :D
I bought a T6/T8 bit as spare part. Very usefull for Torx screws on knives, computers, ....

Some more informations on the book coming 2017.
The title is:
"The Swiss Army Knife Book - 63 Outdoor Projects"
It's the english translatet version of the german speaking book by Felix Immler which was published in Spring 2015.
A really good read  :tu:
You can find Felix Immler and his outdoor/bushcraft projects on youtube.

Yeah, if you are in computer repair I highly recommend to get the T6/T8 and the T10/T15 bit for the CT. With Apple product and many newer laptops these get more and more common. T25 you also encounter but sadly there is no original CT bit for that.

The Spirit plus bits include the T25 and I think I have a good assortment of those down to T10, also the ST versions. The trouble is the small ones, and as they make them smaller and smaller I guess there will be need for T1 and possibly fractional sizes, but I will also need a good magnifier at that point!  :ahhh

Somebody over at Swiss Army Knives Collectores group on FB recently shared a pic of the 2017 catalogue...

The same guy also mentioned that the Angler and Fisherman are no longer in the catalogue...
