Back track 2003 I traded a co2 BB gun for what I thought was the coolest gadget I had ever seen. A leatherman wave with the flipout blades. I used this puppy as my primary go to for years and managed to dull the serrated blade and break one off the plier tips. I ground down the nose and kept on truckin.

Fast forward to last monday. I was driving to class (I'm a nontraditional student  8) ) and as I pass through the middle of the busy intersection, out of the corner of my eye I zeroed in on a shiny object in the road. My brain says leatherman! So I pulled over about 15 feet away and jumped out. After a few more cars ran over it, I got the opportunity to run out and pick it up. It was a new version wave! (The date says 06/16 so someone just lost it LOL). I hit it with some compressed air and wd40 and i'll be darn if this thing doesn't work perfectly!.

I couldn't help but notice how much different the new wave was to my old wave. It feels thicker but not quite as nice in the hand. Some of the tools are different... But it's obviously made well to have survived who knows how many tires running over it.

SO here's my problem... I started researching the differences in the waves and stumbled on this forum along with other leatherman info... All of a sudden a sidekick appeared followed by a pst2... I come back home and there are 2 PSTs and another ps2.. Now I'm telling myself, just buy the super tool 300 and you can stop. HELP!!!! How did I manage to own/use a leatherman for over 10 years and now all of a sudden I find myself mildly obsessed and addicted?   :multi:

Thanks!! Just updated the Op with pics. This is embarasing but the past week i've been almost looking for things to use my new tools on. When the opportunity arises for me to pull out the leatherman, I get all giddy inside!! Yesterday i hit up every pawn shop in town scouring the tool sections for leathermans. I'm definitely sick!

I'm sorry to say, but you are doomed I say, you are definitely doomed    ;)   :pok:

But it can be a fun ride (just make sure the expenditure doesn't get out of control and cause problems).

The first step towards your recovery is to admit you have a problem.  If you need someone to talk to and share your burden we are here for you, and if it will help you at all I'll give you my address and you can send all of your multitools to me.  That is a sacrifice I am willing to make. :pok:

P.S., have you discovered Victorinox, Gerber, and SOG yet?

One can not repair that which is not broken.

You among the like minded.
