Penn International MTs by SOG
on: February 04, 2017, 10:15:56 AM
How many different SOG MTs were marketed under the Penn International label ?  I think Penn may be better known for their fishing reels than MTs.

At first I thought they only sold a Pocket Power Plier (PPP) variant in the lovely gold coloured TiNi finish, but since then I've come across three more, all in the regular SS finish:

PPP

CrossGrip

ParaTool

These SS variants do seem to be rather hard to find (much more so than the TiNi PPP).

I was wondering if anyone has come across any other SOG Penn International MT variants (TiNi or SS or even Black or Tiger Stripe finishes) ?

I'm not even familiar with that brand let alone their rebranded SOGs.  I guess maybe I'll have to send up the Bob Signal to see what he might know about them?

Serious?

If I had to guess I would say Penn is (or used to be?) one of the top 5 reel manufacturers in the world, I grew up using nothing else (salsmurfer) and laughing at people with Daiwa and others.
