Has anyone sent a Mini for warranty?

I am curious as to what you'd get back, if it needed replacement.
We often talk about the fact that the Mini was never truly replaced.
Well, what if you send one to LM for warranty claim?

The Squirt PS4 is too small. If I got one as a replacement, I'd send it back.
The Rebar is too big, with too many implements. I'd be satisfied with it, but I doubt that would be what you got.

The Juice seems about right. The plier head is very similar, just thicker. Maybe a Juice S2?

Maybe they keep some around, just in case someone sends one in for replacement.

From observation - Mainly from this forum - But also elsewhere.....

Victorinox seem to keep an inventory of parts from the past (eg fibre scales, grey mag glasses etc etc ) and/or even have skilled warranty craftsman who can fix those old tools, and genuinely restore them to their former glory..

LM do not

For instance I asked LM to fix a bust Hybrid for me
- They were very nice about it - But offered me a Rebar - Hmm ..... "Sorry LM that is not quite the same"
- Note: Classic British understatement here

So Good Luck with your mini - Put another way - You've got no chance - unless you want a nice new Freestyle
- Which BTW I see as the natural successor to the Mini

I believe Leatherman do indeed keep an inventory of old parts from tools that they don't fix but replace. I think it was Kampher that was told that last year when he did the factory tour.

Being that the Hybrid wasn't made for very long it doesn't surprise me that they didn't have parts for that one.

Yes, back in 2015 I was told they try to keep parts for future repairs.

What I was told when I asked at the store is that any tools replaced under warranty are cannibalized for any usable parts.
