iNova X5?

This was my first LED flashlight, and I have long since traded it away.  I see iNova still makes them, but no one seems to talk about them anymore?  Do they simply not matter in today's world of high end LED lights?

I loved mine, and to be honest I have been giving serious thought to getting another.

I took a quick look.  Not a lot of info on that light.  I saw it takes 2 CR123s but not much else. 

With all the newer lights out I personally feel the size is larger than I would carry.  The Thrunite T10 is about as large a light as I'd carry.  Maybe for bag carry it would be ok but what goods a light in a bag  . 

Bottom line is if the light does what you like and offers the features you dig go for it.

I have a inova brand flashlight like the x5 but mine must be a different model. Mines not as powerful I don't believe but the same form factor. I liked it. I like the twist function and/or the quick press for quick lighting for just as long as you needed.

Now that I think of it I don't know where it is  I usually kept it on my wave holster. Fit absolutely perfect on the elastic side.

I don't know about the new Inova X5's, but the old ones were great battery vampires.

You could slap in a pair of batteries that no other light would power on with, the X5 would take them and keep going until every last bit of power was drained.

Taking a look on Inova's website, the only X5 is the UV one. Planning on shining it around hotel rooms?

Not seen Inova in the UK market for a while now. Most speSmurfpillst torch retailers here seem to stock Nitecore, Fenix, Olight and Eagletac.

The only Inova I had was an old X1, built like a tank, but lagging behind in terms of features.

They definitely stuck to their guns in terms of design.   I remember that 10-12 years ago they were one of the torches to own, now they're all but forgotten.  Thing is though, they are different enough from the rest of the lights out there they might suit some people who don't want the lumen cannons that most of the market wants to own.  I owned a X1 for a while and, though it was dimmer than a candle, it was well made.

I've had several generations of the Inova X5.   The brightest version was a single level of 55 lumens, but that pushed the LEDs too far and I had to return two of them when the LEDs blew out.

The newest versions have two brightness levels, but they are still dim by today's standards.  The strengths of the X5 are its long runtimes and robust construction.  I keep an Inova X5 in each family vehicle.

Sounds right, but it was only for a short while and it was several years ago.  I must admit this INOVA talk has reminded me that I liked the look of the XS.

You're remembering just fine mate.  I've got one of the Vic 2xAAA and you definitely need to put the batteries in backwards.  I'd actually forgotten that they were made by INOVA so it turns out I do still own one.

I had killed one of the lights, and was able to get it replaced, because I put the batteries in the not-stupid way once.

Victorinox was probably attracted to that feature- they put the serrations on the front end of the blade while everyone else puts them at the base, and their liner locks on the 111mm models is backwards too.

Backwards is kind of their thing really...

I also carry one with an extra set of batteries in the car.  We get some  cold weather here and I figure it's a decent light for extreme conditions with the lithium batteries.  Seems pretty substantial and gives enough light for most uses around and about the car.  It's a bit heavy and large for personal carry and I have other better lights for that purpose.
