Nice work Zoids... love the look of the shiny new radioactive goo green bushings on the old board.

On two occasions since the OHT's introduction, I've had an OHT in my online shopping cart and then failed to consummate the sale.  I just could not bring myself to buy one, mostly because of what I perceived as the smallish tools and somewhat limited selection on an otherwise large and heavy MT.  But this Challenge pushed me over the edge, and I'm glad it did.  The focus of the OHT is clearly its unique plier head, which is easy to deploy with one hand.  The mechanism is smoother and more refined than the Gerber's similar design.  The OHT's main blade and other tools are somewhat smaller than you might find on other MTs of similar size, but provide good utility. I would like to see a real, 3D phillips and scissors, but one cannot have it all.  The long shank on the phillips is appreciated.

Looking good  :tu:
Great pictures and tasks for the OHT!

What do you think about the strab cutter ... Is it usefull enough or is it taking place for more important tools ?

I would be happy to answer that - if I had ever used the strap cutter.  I could fathom it being handy if you worked in a warehouse and were cutting 500 straps per day.  For me, I just use a standard or serrated blade.  It also work well to cut seat belts, but again that's something I never expect to do.  I would prefer scissors, though there may not be enough space to substitute them for the strap cutter.

Good Pics guys,

I am pulling out of this one. I cannot commit to the whole month with updates and pics. I will still add pics of the OHT on the planned bike trip.

Cheers,

Pete

DAY 2:

The cutting hook can stay. Would trade a blade and saw for scissors and file though.

Hey Zoid

How is the finger doing?

Current weather looking VERY wet for the bike trip!!!. Got some new fog lights fitted and have more than 500m of visible yellow light now! Yea BABY!!! LED Rock!!!

I agree about the cutting hook. It is really useful. Especially opening stuff or getting in where a blade cannot or will damage. I use it quite a bit.

The curry looks nice.

Cheers,

Pete

I used a Sharpie to mark the main blade for quick reference, but it quickly wears off.  Maybe I'll scratch a big X into it.  I find the icons on the scales a little hard to see.

The motivational phrase for the Signal Challenge was Only the elite will compete.  I'm not sure what the phrase for the OHT Challenge can be.  Only the cattle will battle?

I'm thankful that the x-rays showed no damage to the joints so no surgery required.

I just need to keep it taped up for the month.   :tu:

The way I remember it, is that the PE blade on the top side (thumb) when the plier locking mechanism is facing your index finger when you hold it in your right hand. I keep mine locked thus it is relatively easy to feel which side is facing my index finger.

Cheers

Pete
