on: February 21, 2017, 01:29:19 PM
Hi everyone sorry if this is a stupid question but maybe some one knows something i dont.

I have been holding off buying a wave or tti solely down to the fact that I want replacable wire cutters any one know if this will be implemented this year or any time soon

I have been hanging around and looking at the the pichures etc for a while and have a small collection of a skeletool and some victorinox a sog and a gerber etc but just love multitools

Thanks dean

No news of such exist.
There will probably be Wave 3 in the future, but no one knows when.
I think Wave sells really well so I doubt it will happen soon.

I thought when the updated the Surge the Wave would follow.  I'm not so sure now what they have planned or don't have planned.  What I can tell you is you can find a Rebar plier head and do the mod yourself.  One of our resident modders could also do it for you.

I think we have a wait to see any changes to the Wave/Charge series.

Yep it is gonna be a wait I am afraid :-\ Unless they  do a midyear reveal like they have done before and then bring it to SHOT the following year :tu: They have been known to do this

Thanks for replys, i know thats what i suspected it could be a long wait, jist means shelling out for wave then again for rebar plyers will give it a bit time see what happens, live the look of the charge tti especially when the handles been heat treated and go blue etc

The TTi with flame colored scales are nice.  If you are after a TTi I'd say go for it.  Generally speaking I always say to go with a Wave since for all practical purpose they are same tool.  I have been carrying my TTi more than I have in the last several years and I understand.  The S30V blade and overall look is pretty terrific.  I'm enjoying carrying my TTi a lot vs my Wave which says a lot in my case.

I thought it would be neat to see a Ti Surge .  I figured they ( LM ) would have to charge a pretty penny however.

I doubt if they are going to do a mid-year launch this year. I've noticed several sales of Waves here. I think Leatherman would want to let dealers clear out old stock before a new release, so I think the timing would be later in the year.

I think if they mess with wave too much it's going to push up the price, at least outside the US, to a level where people aren't going to consider them. Just to give you and idea the wave is £118.95 ans the Tti is now an eye watering £218.95. Even the Rebar is £86.95.
