The high bidder has 0 (zero) feedback. Something smells.

Yes. Definitely something fishy going on here. Most likely the seller created 2 dummy accounts to bring the bid up to $5000. An ill-informed newbie collector might fall for it and join in the bidding. Or it will end with the winner being the seller himself, registering a $5000 transaction in sales history of the 2010 damascus, allowing him to justify a higher asking price the next time he puts up "another" for sale.

Interesting -  but how would he avoid having to pay ebay the customary 10% commission on that $5000? $500 is an awful lot of money to spend on something you already own! if he vanishes into thin air and never pays (which is his logical move) would the less-than-kosher transaction remain logged in the system?
