My goto is a Handyman. I don't leave home without it. Well, I don't get out of bed without it.
It's been an continuous carry for about 20 years now.

My go to SAK is the Yeoman Mechanic.

Or a Spirit and Manager combo.

My go to for years has been a black Spartan with nylon scales. Recently I've been trying to carry a black Pioneer more ( I really like to looks, heft and feel) but still find myself carrying the Spartan at least 2-3 days a week.

Minichamp with a flashlight on the keychain that dangles on my ID.

Otherwise, I reach for the Spirit in the bag.

Although too early to tell yet, I think the Swiss Bianco Carver SW will be the one this year. I considered carrying a Tourist or a Compact alongside but neither is quite what I want, the Tourist lacking scissors and the Compact being, well, too compact. I've ordered a Climber to fill the gap. (Stock photographs).
(Currently, Climbers are available with 25% discount at https://www.victorinoxstore.nl/).

Although it doesn't have all the tools I want, just for sheer strength, design and utility I reach for my SI;

That's exactly why I chose the Carver, albeit with a different tool layout better suited to my personal needs. The Carver for outdoor work, the Climber for urban use.

I like the Carver. A lot. But one of my requirements is a lanyard ring - the SI goes one better with the hollow rivet. I wish all alox came with a hollow rivet, then you could choose whether to use it or not.

Out of two dozen SAK's these three are my go to. Soldier, Swisschamp and Pocket tool chest.
Gene,
I'd love for you to start a new thread on the Pocket Tool Chest,  as it compares to the Vic 58mm options.  I'm very tempted to find one.

The only problem with that is I've given away all but a couple of 58mm classic to compare it to so it won't be a fair comparison. However it could be a fun debate .
Jeep the SAK of the auto world or is it SAK the Jeep of the Knife world?

My go to SAK is and always has been the Classic. Always on my keychain, constantly punching above its weight, it's my favorite pen knives. I don't need a knife for hard use often, and I reach for a fixed blade, or a machete, or what have you. Usually not a folding knife.

Two months ago, I would have said the Explorer. Even though this is my favorite SAK, I have been expanding my use of my Swiss Army Knives in order to enjoy them instead of having them sitting in a storage container. Among my SAKs, I am very impressed with the Alox build quality and am also impressed by the 111mm SAKs and their amazing tools. Bottom line? I no longer have a single "Go to" SAK; instead, sometimes my "Go to" is the one closest at hand.

Gotta agree with Jim, there is no "go to" SAK for me.

But if pressed, I'd have to say "Soldier".  It's the SAK I reach for most often. Just slips into the pocket and is always useful.

The Pioneer X is in my caddy everyday but rarely finds use.

I alternate between carrying my Leatherman Charge or SwissChamp every day, with the Charge winning most of the time (because of the pliers, in case the Big One hits our city).

My "Go To" SAK? The unassuming Bantam. I use everyday to peel an apple, its toothpick to clean stuff and the combo-tool to open beer bottles  :drink:

When I met Teofilo for the first time months ago, he told and showed me the most useful SAK for him (and he owns A LOT, I'm sure) is the Waiter. Now I understand why.  :tu:

For the last year I have carried my Champion more than any other SAK because it was a birthday present and it makes me happy when I carry it. Although, I usually have a classic with me as well.

My go-to SAK is my modded Compact.  It started as a Compact (I like the nail file on the parcel hook), then had some Yeoman elements added (inline Phillips and magnifier), it rounds out with a wood saw and a sentimental scale (teepee on it like my original Camper).
GigaHz made this special mod come true and it's my daily carry.  :tu:

Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

There is just something about the teepee insignia that I love!  After seeing yours and Poncho65's for so many posts, I had to get my own--NOS mint in box Camper with stamped teepee and NOS mint in box Ranger with inlay teepee).

Very nice mod! I am still mod-less but happy with my SAKs. I think I have my Explorer acquisition under control now (just topped 30). :)

Very good to see your familiar Lisantica avatar this morning!

Jim
