If it's a Leatherman then I'm thinking SuperTool or SuperTool 200.

Definitely a box type, and looks large.  Could be a Super tool or even a Core.

Or maybe a cheapo, but you'd think if you were planning to kill someone you would want to get a good tool to make sure it was done properly....

My thoughts too... although it could be that they made a prop blade and put it in reverse. The shape is good but the edge is on the wrong side maybe?

Sadly, I have no better shot from the murder scene and there is no guarantee that the finally identified tool is, what they actually use in this scene. However, it might appear larger because of the movement blur. And it is finally identified as a genuine Leatherman.

But with a Chinese copy, chances are you hurt yourself in the process of stabbing someone, leaving blood/DNA at the crime scene.

Btw, its better not to get rid of the murder weapon, rather make it clean, then dirty again. Ideally use gas-sterilization or put it in the oven for a couple of hours, then cut some meat and stuff so it looks used and not freshly cleaned.
