I'll tell ya what, I struck my own ferro rod and it was fine. My sharpening also wasn't shabby as I was able to feather some wood and start a little fire. I was entertained when he took Shaq out. Survival, well I much prefer Les as well as others but I'm sure he'd kick my arse any day of the week.
Is this basically a lmf ll?
Nice catch! I almost bought the PE version when it was on sale before xmas. Quote from: Zed on March 11, 2017, 03:52:15 AMIs this basically a lmf ll? I believe its closer to the Prodigy. If I remember correctly its almost identical to the prodigy, but with cheaper steel, and cheaper plastic sheath.
I just find the orange scheme, the BG initial... on these items cheap, cheesy,... well, downright fugly
Cool knife!!!
Bear Grylls is an icon. So when I saw a BG knife in the shop window, I wanted it.I guess it won't help me much in a survival situation though. (Compact Scout, 2.5'' blade).(Image removed from quote.)

I don't mind his entertainment value, even though I think he's a risk taking fool. His show should be called "What Not To Do In A Survival Situation". But where I draw the line is, when someone is proven to be a total fake. Like when Bear was supposed to be in some South Pacific jungle island, but in reality he and his camera team were staying in a near by high dollar resort in Hawaii every night. Or he's supposed to be out in the middle of some desert and in the background theres a highway and a speck of a car going by. If someone gave me a BG branded anything, I'd toss it in the nearest trash can.
