1, 2, and 3 tools... what would you choose
on: March 14, 2017, 05:23:20 AM
I like to play this game with guitars and cars, so I figured it would be fun to do it here too.

Say you have to choose 1 multi tool, and you can only have that one for the rest of your life. This is the daily carry, the around the house, the only one. What do you choose? Similarly, what if you could choose 2? 3?

I haven't handled all of them, but I think my choices would go like this:
1: SwissTool Spirit
2: PST, Vic Huntsman
3: SwissTool, Skeletool Cx, Huntsman

What would you all choose?

(Sorry, I know there are a ton of these threads. I'm bored)

Are we allowed to modify the tool or are we talking stock choices?

1) Surge
2) Surge + Vic Huntsman
3) i don't need a third multitool...but, if i had to, i'd probably take the ST300 as a backup for the Surge...

Why not modify? Hell, play two games--stock and modify. I don't care, its an internet discussion. Not going to change the world.

Interesting that there are so many repeats among the selections. See, I see 1 tool as having to be a jack of all trades. With 2, one (or both) can be a little more specialized, and 3, even  moreso. I think a Skeletool is perfect for MOST of my needs, but not all. Its kind of like the sports car in the below example.

Think of it like a car--if you only have 1 car, you'd probably pick something like a Subaru Turbo Wagon. Reliable, safe, fast, fun, and practical. If you could have 2 cars, maybe you'd have a Miata and a SUV or minivan. If you could have three cars, you might do something like a vintage British Car (MGB), a BMW M3, and a SUV or Minivan.

1 only - Spirit
2 - Spirit and Swisschamp
3 - Spirit and Swisschamp and SI.

I don't have a Swisschamp (one day....) but would want something with all the usual tools as a back up to the Spirit, and the SI is just gorgeous.

This was pretty hard my knee jerk reaction was to pick the Centerdrive as much as I like it I don't think it will last a lifetime. The Centerdrive and my DeWalt impact are my favorite screwdrivers.

1 Spirit Plus
