My attempt to make my first spork
on: March 15, 2017, 08:39:25 PM
Well as the topic says I made a spork :D

I bought the spoon for a dollar :tu: Then I marked it with a Sharpie

Next I started by putting it a vise and cutting it with a Dremel :like:

Shortened it and put a hole in the end for a string or carabiner to hook to it

Finished it off with diamond rod and sanding block

My first homemade spork :tu: Just left is washing and using it :D I may get a smaller spoon for the next one though

Nice one Poncho  :tu:
I lightly sharpened one edge on mine so it will cut food better but not so sharp that it will cut my mouth  :salute:
Everything’s adjustable

My tips/preferences...

Three slots only...that gives you a four tine fork. The space between tines should be wide enough to capture Ramen noodles. I like the tines longer because it does a better job of spearing food like vegetables without splitting them.

Good job mate. :tu:  So, are you now planning on making a whole drawer full of hybrid cutlery?  :D

Did that years ago and failed spookily (though I never accepted that and kept on attempting to convince myself that my hand-made spork was cool). I ended up having a spoon with threatening looking spikes... Had to throw it away couple of years ago finally  :D :D

You seem to have accomplished a much better job, though  :tu:

Perhaps a spoon that is a bit different shape that just the regular rounded spoon  That might help it be a bit more fork like :tu:

Very cool work Poncho!  I can't wait to see the results of future experimentation!
