Timber Rattler Giant Pocket Knife
on: March 17, 2017, 08:22:13 PM
This thing is ridiculous.
Out from the box its blade grind is the worst I ever seen, tip is broken off, fit and finish is nonexistent as nothing is fit and nothing is finished. The pakkawood scales are ugly and look unnatural. Lockup is wobbly.

After many hours of tinkering, regrinding, restaining the scales, polished bolsters, it is now somewhat visually presentable.
It makes my Crooked River looks so small.

For $13 shipped it was a fun project and nice paperweight.

Holy crap that is a big knife!

Good work on making it presentable though.  It looks good in the pic at least!

That was the only goal.
This thing is not usable.

Nice job on the re-work! I have several different ones from various makers that the quality is questionable at best.I got them basically as a joke to give to several friends. The one I really liked was the 4 blade congress pattern that is a full 12 inches long CLOSED!
I do have some really nice large knives including a few automatics.Maybe I'll start a thread on big ones.

Kamp that thing is huge! Looks like all your work made it better.

Ray that is the biggest congress I've ever seen. Talk about knife shock! Congress's are usually small.   :o

Crocodile Dundee is passed off because some desk jockey is using his knife as paperweight.
