I was unprepared today. It snowed and I needed to open a bag of rock salt for the driveway. Stinker the Tinker is in the basement in my parka pocket so I had to use my Spyderco to open the bag. tom.  :oops:

I recently scored this old Tinker on eBay.  Nylon scales, and a can key Phillips.  Never seen one like this before.

Don't believe that was ever produced by Vic  :think: Must have gotten the nylon scales later on... far as I know the can key stopped in '91 and the nylon began in '94

It's got the 4-line tang stamp with big "V," and the "Officier Suisse" with the crossbow on the other side, so it's obviously an earlier knife.  I agree, I think the nylon scales were added later.  My first SAK was a Tinker with can key Phillips that I got back in the 80s, but I distinctly remember it had Celidor scales.  Sadly I've long since lost it over the course of many moves.
