What's on Your Wish List?
on: March 18, 2017, 09:53:58 PM
Let's say that most of us have our "Go-to" SAK(s) nailed down.  In my case, it's the Explorer for around the house and the Minichamp on my keychain for out and about.  For most of us, having a single SAK or a rotation of SAKs does not keep us from wanting more.  :)

So, what's on your wish list?

The Alox MInichamp leads my Alox wish list since I had to cancel my Amazon order after it got stuck in Limbo (marked "In stock" but hadn't shipped after a month).

The CyberTool 41 is high on my 91mm cellidor scale wish list.  Getting a CT-41 will complete my CyberTool collection. Unfortunately, I was too exuberant and ended up with three CT-34s and two CT-29s.  I had recently purchased the CT Lite and will probably sell/trade my excess CT-34s and CT-29 to end up with one of each in the series.

Thanks to photos by Poncho65 & FolderBeholder featuring the Camping logo, I definitely see a NOS or pristine sample in my future.  My first choice would be a Ranger but a good Camper will do.  This item will probably stay on my wish list for some time since I am willing to be patient in order to end up with one that gleams like Poncho65's.

How about your wish list?

Good idea for a thread Jim!

For me, I would like a custom Super Tinker with titanium scales, but that is far out of my price range.

A 1951 Soldier, exposed rivet 91mm of any kind, Wenger Tahara, Cybertool 41 and an Astronaut model Master Craftsman are my grails.

I would like a Buffalo horn SwissChamp, or a stag SwissChamp.  or a 125th anniversary SwissChamp.

If I can help, let me know

Sometime soon I'll buy a Pioneer X. A colored one. It'll replace the Climber that's half my current carry (the other half being a Carver). This means losing the corkscrew and t&t, so I'll be adding a Waiter to compensate. However much I try, I can't find any single SAK that satisfies all my wants and needs. Which isn't a problem really, since I like carrying more than one.

Disclaimer: subject to change without notice. And I'll be carrying one or two MiniChamps as well.

A Ti 91mm Carver with corkscrew and scissors sounds like what you need.  ;)
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

At the moment my Wish list is a Rambler, a Compact, maybe with yellow scales, and an old Fisherman with proper metal inlay fish. I lost mine as a kid and that printed inlay just isn't the same ... *sighs*

Good grails!  I took a look at my rather modest wish list and realized that I had already purchased most of the SAKs that I wanted.  I also realized that my list was more of what I was planning to get next rather than a true wish list.  The CT-41 is not always available and does qualify as a wish.  I recently passed on s Super Timer with a buy-it-now of just under $300.  The Super Timer definitely goes on the list!  There is a SAK that is on the top of my list but it is currently an active auction item on e-bay and I would rather not invite extra competition. :)

Now is the time to get a CT41. Just noticed a few days ago it's on amazon prime for $137. That saves a lot on shipping because you don't have to pay $30 for "expedited" Japan to USA shipping. "Expedited shipping" meant it took a week to get from Japan instead of three weeks and you got tracking info. Wish it was on prime when I got it last year.

I love threads like these, thanks NorCal for starting it!

As for my wish list:

I really want the Picnicker I bought (and have since been refunded for) as it never arrived, it was mint in box.

Recently felt like trying a thinner 91mm so maybe I'll make something like a scientist with scissors instead of the blade and combo tool.

For me, an exposed rivet Vic or Wenger, a '67 Soldier (birth year for me!), Apollo anniversary Master Craftsman and an Aloxplorer.  I can always think of more when I see some of SAK Guy's or Folder Beholder's posts  :D

I will add another Outrider to keep new in box since it looks like the slide lock models will be discontinued.....

Speaking of which... my wish list is all 111mm liner lock models... not so patiently waiting for them to start turning up here... Outrider and Workchamp XL are the highest priority...

(Also have two slide locks on the way as collection items before they go... Outrider and Adventurer)

Already had plenty on a list but now it is even longer  :D

I would like some of the larger Swisschamps, a Farmer X (when they finally do ever come out) Master Craftsman, an older cellidor model (read that as several but not enough money :D and I am sure if I think I could go on and on :ahhh

Neat thread :like:

Pretty funny but true enough!

During the past three months, I have made a good sized dent in my personal "Want it all". :)

Surprisingly, I watched an e-bay auction for a CT-41 get away without bidding (patiently waiting for the right deal on new or excellent used). It's just a matter of time.
My mysterious "unnamed" item was a Swiss Champ XLT that I passed on when I noticed a scratch on the magnifier.  I love the Swiss Champ and am intrigued by the higher models.  The Swiss Champ XLT and XVAT are both on my wish list.

Meanwhile, I thought I would make some room on my wish list by booting the Alox Minichamp.  I have two keychains corresponding to each of our cars and both are equipped with a Minichamp with more functionality than the Alox version.  It just doesn't make sense to get the Alox Minichamp at this time.

Hovering in the background and not quite in wish list territory is the Wenger or Delemont Evolution 28 (and possibly 23 & EvoGrip S54).

I guess I want it all, one SAK at a time. :)
