Axesky sharpening system
on: March 19, 2017, 11:03:21 PM

This idea has been kicking about in my head for some time
I wanted an easy way to 'reset' the bevels on an Axe

I was thinking of using it on a badly treated axe, this one is just a test (4 1/2 lb ELWELL)

That's working  :)

Then on to a slack belt to blend in the bevels

Holds the axe head firmly while I attack it with some 120 grit 'sandpaper'

After the Polishing mop (probably should have waited with this final sharpening until I had hung it  ::) )

After a trip to the wire wheel and some linseed oil

Everything’s adjustable

Thanks Kev, I just copied the Lansky sharpening system  ;)
It's not for everyday sharpening it is to help me get angles the same both sides when I'm starting on a damaged axe   :tu:
