My new beast
on: March 22, 2017, 09:59:23 AM
This is a custom made blade (the blade was done by a smith in Germany, the rest by myself), orange G10 and a black finish using "Ballistol Schnellbrünierung".

The steel is a 1.2235 80CrV2 Carbon steel, it's 5mm thick. This beast rocks. It's designed for heavy duty jobs. Although beeing a compromise (an axe and a shovel would do better in their discipline).

It sure is a beast.  Great color choice for the handle material.

Great color choice for the handle material.

Thank you! :)
I'm not really into tactical stuff. The black blade has more practical reasons as the steel I used is pretty hard (61 HRC), durable and sturdy but tends to rust. The coating prevents this. And the orange G10 is easily to spot if I accidently drop the knife somewhere. It's a signal color and therefor (I have to admit "for me") the best choice.

Finally a handtooled leather sheath for my beast.

Of course it had to be black colored leather with orange cotton (it's PE).

I sticked to this tutorial (sorry it's in German, but the pictures show a lot).
