Executive or Alox Minichamp??? (poll)

If you had to choose one as your absolute one and only tool for a week or so, which would it be and why?? Thanks in advance! I cant make up my mind about this one. Open to suggestions on other 58 and 74mm models. I say Alox Minichamp and not normal Minichamp because I can have a separate pen and a flashlight and stuff like that.

Both, if you can afford them.   However, I'd suggest the Cellidor MiniChamp because of the pen.  I have both, but prefer the Executive because its blades are just long enough for most jobs.   Plus the file works really well on softer metals like brass something even old 58mm SAKs with the cut file can't do.

I vote for the Executive :tu: I carried one almost exclusively for 7 years 8) Just replaced by the Ranger last Summer  :o I still do carry it on weekends occasionally when I need a light but great carry :cheers:

I have a weakness for the alox minichamp, I have 4 of them. I also have an executive. Both are great knives, but I prefer the minichamp.  I use the cut and picker(orange peeler blade) a lot for opening clam shell packages. The curved blade is great for cutting cardboard. The cuticle pusher works well as a screwdriver and I have used the phillips screwdriver for removing screws to battery compartments in handheld electronic devices. The scissors and nail file also get used quite a lot.

You should probably use a minichamp for a week and then spend a week with the Executive.

Thanks for all of the replies so far!!! One thing that concerns me about the executive is its drivers. How do they compare to those on the minichamp? Has anyone used them both? I feel like I could snap the one on the file because of the harder steel.

The nail file on the Executive works pretty well for tiny Philips screws. It will also tighten door knobs. The large blade works for food duty where the 58mm blade would get you fingers in your food.  The Executive's peeler had a hook/draw blade that works on clan she'll packaging.

So hard, SO HARD! Really tough choice, they are my two favorite small SAKs.


One is my forever-keychain carry SAK



and the other my "coin pocket" (dressy, public use, lending, nail care, mail opener) SAK


If I had to choose I think I'd die, but I'd probably pick the Executive in the afterlife just after that. I think the bigger blade has some real advantage for most tasks, and the Phillips can be replaced by the peeler's tip. Scissors are awesome on the Eexecutive and the thin profile really helps on the carry-ability and comfort

Dont have minichamp in alox, but Id say Executive. For me minichamp has some less useful functions and executive is slimmer with larger tools.

Then again 74mm is my favorite size from Victorinox so I am extremely biased.

I'll chose MiniChamp over Executive for entirely different reasons.
As I'm carrying bigger SAKs as well (Carver and Climber) I don't really need either one. 
I carry them for fun and fiddling, and showing off, anytime, anywhere.
In that, I think the MiniChamp hugely outperforms the Executive.

PS What is wrong with the MiniChamp pic?  :)

Mini for sure.  Its been on my keys for years and gets almost daily use.  No need for the big nail file on the 74mm SAK.

There's four reasons I chose the PTC.

The size. In my opinion the 58mm is just to small to comfortablely use and the 75mm does not fit in my change pocket as well

The micro SD. I don't use it every day but I wear glasses and when I need it it's worth it's weight in gold.

The awl. Who doesn't need a sharp pointy tool from time to time.

The combo tool. It's designed to be used as a light pry bar. Great for stubborn battery case door's ECT.

Most keyring size SAK's can't do these tasks as well as the PTC. so for me it works.
