Problem with scissors on Wave?
on: March 28, 2017, 04:49:16 AM
I'm not sure if my Wave is defective or not. Before I send it back I want to check with other owners. The scissors on mine are very flimsy. Yes, they lock at the base, but the actual part that rotates to cut is very flimsy and flops all over the place. It still cuts fine but it just doesn't feel right. There should be more of a solid feel where you actually have to move it open rather than watch it flop. When I have the pliers open in conjunction with the scissors (my favorite fishing combo), the scissors flip back and forth and almost cut my hand as I used the pliers. My gut tells me this shouldn't be happening.

The moving half of the scissors is only sprung over the last 45 degrees or so of travel, and the pivot is usually fairly loose so it sounds normal.  It might be that the spring is broken or isn't engaging properly with the lock mechanism though.  Can you take a pic or two to show us what's wrong?
