Same as released at SHOT 17.

Expected late spring.  Wondering why the delay, Components appear identical to Sckeletool so tooling would minimal.

To bad as my knife budget will likely be zip by time they do become available.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

But, but, it's a Leatherman!
And hoping for a plain edge blade instead of the combo edge.  And if handle is finished in some type of ORANGE then I will have to have it.

I'm pretty stoked on these, honestly. I cant wait to get my hands on one. Admittedly, I believe they could have been more than what they are (if these incorporated the bit driver, I bet you'd be singing a different tune :D ) I believe these will be great watch-pocket knives.

I think everyone is just disappointed that the big dog on the block hasnt released anything major in a couple of years now. But usually whenever they do, they polarize the MTO crew so much that it almost doesn;t matter. Wingman, Sidekick, Signal, Tread, Leap, OHT, and maybe to a slightly lesser extent the Rebar and Skeletool all garner as much hate around here as praise.

And I still struggle to find the apostrophe on this laptop

Shouldn't these be called Freestyle knives? They don't have the Skeletool bit driver.

If they made one with the RX fully serrated 154CM blade, I'd be all over it so I could stick the blade in my existing Skeletool.

I feel like it should have a new or a slightly altered name to differentiate it a bit, like Bone, Skeleblade, etc... but the Skeletool has been such a popular model for them, I get why they'd want to cash in on it some more.

If they made one with the RX fully serrated 154CM blade, I'd be all over it so I could stick the blade in my existing Skeletool.

I am stunned they didn't offer an RX version that incorporates the fully serrated blade and a carbide tip for glass breaking. Would've been so simple. Maybe next year, if these sell well.

The reasons I have for carrying a locking blade are for harder use, possible defensive use, or possible rescue use, this new skele-blade is not a great competitor in any of these fields compared to other options. Maybe for the money, but if i can get a great knife for rescue use for 15 - 20 bucks more Vs one that is ehh i will if i can. Maybe it makes a good junk drawer knife or food knife or buy 10 because theyre so cheap knife or something like that... im trying here.. i mean its basically the same size category as the si, pioneer, maybe the cadet. As an edc task type blade, those have way more functionality and lets face it, , so much more handsome. This knife probably has a place.. somewhere... maybe it is much thinner? No way its thinner than a cadet though. I like the blade shape of the skeletool, there. I found something that I like. But I like my normal skeletool (with tools) partially for that reason. I probably wouldnt waste valuable pocket space on the skeleblade over a vic or si though when i just like the blade a little better ... i mean we're talking light duty edc stuff here. I always carry another blade for other kinds of uses... i dont know. Maybe I will buy one just to have a handy cheap blade laying in a drawer when i need it. Maybe thats what its meant for! If so, then its not that bad. It also is good for blade swaps I'm sure.

Sorry for the rant, bad grammar, etc

I completely agree with you. A locking blade is to me
A. Able to withstand heavy use/abuse
B. Able to serve in a defensive/emergency situation without fearing of lock failure
C. Large and grippy enough so that I can have a tight grip and secure purchase on it in case A or B happens

and this one fails in that....

A. Blade is rather thin and with holes on it. Seems prone to develop lock rock and blade play if you stab something a bit hard or put some pressure in any direction. Lock seems prone to grit and dirt making it fail or unwanted stuff getting inside the holes and weird shapes and cavities during use in certain environments
B. Liner lock is obviously flimsy and light duty (only need to look at the material there's behind it and the construction) and could fail under minimal stress. The holes could grab or catch unto things (clothing/screws/branches and twigs/protruding corners and pieces) that you could find near your blade in an emergency or defensive situation
C. Grip seems painful in case you have to hold it tight and strong and sharp points/hot sports that could easily injure you. Add to that the fact that an all metal construction can make it dangerous to hold in very cold weather/climates and is also electricity/heat conductor, so in some emergencies (like touching wires, accidentally stabbing into something with electric components, grabbing your knife from a place that's on fire...) it could cause you more harm than good

but it won't be in my list because, failing on those three points, it ain't either...

A. Dressy/classy/good looking enough for special occasions and "gentleman usage", it looks futuristic, alienish and tacticool
B. Thin, lightweight or inexpensive enough to be comfortably carried, lent and used as a single purpose, light cutting blade

a SAK, SRM Folder, Opinel, Enlan, etc. will do the same, cut as well or better and most likely be lighter and easier to carry while looking good, classy and inoffensive, all for probably less $
This one is a BIG FAIL to me, deceived by LM's direction as of late

Yeah.

Couple months after SHOT, I still think this is the result of a "Oh, smurf, I thought YOU were working on something for  the trade shows" moment some time in November.

As much as I like my Skelly as minimalist tool, particularly when I need to dress up and need to be minimal in my tool load.
