I'm looking forward to it! My SOG Tech Bowie has been my only SOG product so far, and I am looking forward to check out more from SOG.

Package from SOG today!

I have all of the Power Access tools in hand, and I'm packaging them all up for immediate distribution to all those that ordered!

There are a couple left that I will put in the store shortly, but I really wanted to tell everyone that the wait is (almost) finally over!

Can we have a SOG Power Access challenge? :ahhh   :woohoo:

Yea, good idea! Let's plan it for June, but not start it until the middle of July

Just kidding, Grant!

Definitely July or later for the challenge please, mine will only just get here by the end of May if I'm lucky. My last order shipped on April 29th and isn't here yet. The UK end of handling of international packages is slooooooow for some reason.

Nothing set in stone yet but I'm working on a couple of ideas for July being that it's an anniversary month.
Anyone planning a July challenge please get in contact with me first.
Cheers.

Got mine in the mail yesterday! At first inspection, the tools in handle with the file were doing the "collapse back" that Grant described in the beware thread. But I noticed I could press the lock tab into the notch on the implement a little, then it wouldn't happen. After playing with tool a bit and working the individual implements, it seems to be functioning as intended. Almost like it just needed a slight break-in period.

Early impressions are good, though. I need to tighten up the screws on one handle, a little too loose for my liking. Otherwise, this tool rocks.

Glad to see that it arrived safe and sound!

I have to say that I think SOG really knocked it out of the park on this one.  When I first looked through the 2017 SOG catalogue I was drawn to the different stuff like the Sync and Baton series tools, and I kind of glossed over the Power Grab and Power Access tools as just being "more of the same" kinds of things.  You know, more variants of the Power Play or something.

As soon as I opened the box on the Power Access I realised that this wasn't just another tool.  I really like the size, the clip, the loadout (although I still miss the scissors) and, as much as I hate to admit it, I really love the acid wash finish on it.  This tool looks as good as it works.

Is it perfect? No, but then no tool is.  I would rather have scissors on it, I would love to have one crafted the same way SOG used to make tools (in the USA  :pok:) and I would really love to see SOG go back to the good old days of interchangeable components, so that way we could all have what we wanted in it.  It still might not be perfect, but it would be pretty darned sweet.

Oh yeah, and I ordered a few extras, so if anyone else wants in on them, they are listed in The MTO Store, and, since I am a dirty foreigner and have the store set to Canadian Funds, the price is still below MSRP....  silly fluctuating currency conversions....

What are your thoughts on it?

Def

Carried the PowerAccess a bit today but it's a work week and I have an office job so haven't had occasion to actually use it yet. Appearance wise, I like the design, but I don't like the finish.  Mine is dingy looking and irregularly colored, with certain spots looking dark and soiled. My multis are users so it would have gotten here eventually but it didn't look new even right out of the box.

The pocket clip is good, very secure to the point where it's difficult to clip in, but the thing doesn't move when it's clipped. This was a key feature for me, I don't like belt or in-pocket carry for multis this size.  I'm concerned about the reports of the pin shearing off but haven't had that problem yet.

The handle tools on mine are tight and a little difficult to deploy, pushing down the lock lever to release the detent makes them easier to pull out.

I tried out the protractor, it's an interesiting idea but it's not very accurate as far as I can tell.  It looks cool at least. :D

The plier jaws meet perfectly at the end and are perfectly aligned.  I like that the gears aren't exposed.  Grip is comfortable.

Comparing to the Rebar: Folded, the Rebar is smaller in all dimensions, however, the plier head and implements on the Rebar are larger, and there are more of them.  This is because of the compound gearing for the plier head, the bit driver, and the outside access for all the handle tools.

The Rebar lacks a bit driver, pocket clip, and compound leverage, but does have a saw, larger tools, and replaceable wire cutters. The PowerAccess wins because of the pocket clip, I'll have it on me more often than the Rebar, which lives in my backpack.

Mine's the same way.

Anybody else notice the eyeglass driver and the small driver on the can opener are practically the exact same size.

It seems like a dangerous thing for post offices to do- you would think that it would encourage after hours unauthorized entries as folks try desperately to get their packages!   :ahhh

Her it is;

Thanks Grant, for setting this up, for sending it over the ocean, and for your dark ops mission suggestion.

There were too many holdups already for this group buy, the PO being stingy wasn't needed!
