I've still got two No 7's but I think I'll end up giving these away. They're great knives that take a wicked edge, but they never find their way into my pocket.  :-\

I'll either pocket a SAK or another spring knife (traditional slippie). There's simply no reason for me to choose the Opinel instead.

My problem is I have more knives to carry than I have pockets to put them in, so often times my opies get left behind. I may end up downsizing my collection sometime in the future. :ahhh

Nice one! is it carbon or inox steel? :tu:
Inox - I just checked again to be absolutely sure. The one I had when I went to school wasn't, that makes it a carbon steel by default doesn't it? Not sure they even sold Inoxes back in those days, but I'm sure hordes of fellow Opinel owners will jump up to enlighten us now.  :D
Cheers!

I gifted my parents a second hand Inox Opinel with a Virobloc that only locks open, which means it was made before 2000.

Don't know when you went to school though :D

I've sold off a heck of a lot of stuff over the last couple of years, but still have way more than I'll ever need. I don't mind having a surplus so long as they get carried occasionally, which most of my stuff actually does.

Same here, it's nice to pull one out to carry that doesn't see a lot of pocket time. I just got done moving a few of my knives into the boxes for later on down the road. I'm trying to limit my EDC selection as much as possible ( for now :D).
