I may also try my hand at putting a better pouch in this sheath as Aloha has already mentioned trying on one of his :tu: :like:

I'm already looking for material.  The project seems easy enough since the rest of the sheath is in good shape.  Maybe some king of heavy canvass or a back pack that is ready to toss.  That material is pretty durable from my experience watching 3 kids beat theirs and them holding up rather well.

Maybe it is because they are designed for the MP600, but I have Gerber sheaths that are years old and they don't have holes in them despite always carrying a Gerber with the plier head down.

I am disappointed by the lack of resistance with the cheap sheath, but I suppose I'm not as surprised as I should be.

Def

Glad someone thinks alike! Gerber sheaths (older ones) are the absolute best for MTs IMO

I have 60+ sheaths from lots of makers and brands, and out of those 60, in my Top 10:

- 5 are older Gerber sheaths
- 2 are off-brand sheaths
- 1 is SOG
- 1 is Vic
- 1 is LM

they have the best material, best stitching, undoubtedly the greatest belt loops (in size, shape, separation, width, etc.) and the most durable velcro in my opinion.
Can't beat them, and I am always looking for some of them to pop up somewhere for cheap  :ahhh
My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

My MP600 usually sits in an old Gerber sheath  Just figured I'd use the molle sheath as I have been using it exclusively since I got it and it us easier to just swap MTs in and out of it instead of swapping everything ::) :D

Would you fathom to try singeing the frayed nylon to prevent any more damage?

Well the holes aren't really getting any bigger so for now the sheath is holding :tu: 2 and a half more weeks of the MP600 might make a difference though :ahhh :D

I also got the other molle sheath that Ben sent me and all I can say is wow :o They really made the 2 of these different  The other one looks as though it would laugh at the thought of the MP600 wearing a hole in it :D Really looking forward to when I carry this sheath as it will become my main sheath after this one tears up :tu:

Still no comparison pics

But I did get one of the sheath I am using :tu:

The tear is widening as you can tell ::) Stitches are popping daily I guess and it is inevitable that the sheath will fail  I am prepared for this though :D

That sheath came with my Rebar and it really feels flimsy. Not surprised to see one dying so quickly. I haven't used mine enough to kill it, but the tape/ribbon that seals off the opening is so cheap it started to tear almost immediately.

Although it must be said that I've had much bigger issues with Leatherman sheaths...
