On rare occasions Amazon reviews can be quite good. This one for the Waiter is excellent and comprehensive. It even references multitool.org https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3C6ECYZMIRY3/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0001P15JY
My brothers Waiter. He told me this is his first SAK. It has seen a lot of action playing in the woods. And I could tell. The blade's tip was bent, the combo tool was bent. And the edge... was as good as gone. The straight part of the edge had a slight convex curve to it. As far as I know Victorinox has no recurve blades on the Waiter... (Image removed from quote.)Victorinox WaiterI like how he kept the box and booklet. He now keeps it in his desk drawer, but still uses it.I think he got this SAK in 1995/96. These things are really lifetime tools.
Also during the holiday season I am quite likely to need the corkscrew to open a bottle of wine and will definitely be using the cap lifter to open a beer or two
winter equals Waiter to me, as it's when more beverages, wine and drinks fill the rooms and there's always one of these SAKs in the table for everyone to use (Image removed from quote.)

Homemade?yup, homemade.I often use them instead of the P7 clips on smaller, thinner SAKs, as they keep them closer to the edge (seam) of the pocket
I got so mixed up with Wenger Wednesday... I'm so ashamed I did come home and open up my 1st gen, early 80's Waiter a few times, and used the newer one I have in the kitchen drawer to help me cut up some garlic..

My favorite SAK mod so far has been my waiter->apprentice conversion... the white economy scales would look stunning with a contoured can-key phillips driver apprentice.-Tom
Congrats on the Waiter. There is something really appealing about the size/functionality ratio. I carry mine regularly, especially when I don't expect to be doing much more than cutting something and opening beer, which is frankly most of the time these days
Wohoo!I won a lot of vics from ebay which included a Waiter. It's my first, and MAN do I like it. So incredibly light and such a slim package. I figured it was about $3.75 worth of a $15 lot. Worth every cent.
