I really like that relative of the Waiter, the Apprentice.  The Phillips gives it a slimmer profile than the Waiter, and for me it's more useful than the corkscrew.

Another fan of the Apprentice here.  Easy enough to mod your Waiter into one as well.

Thanks for taking the bullet on this one guys! I'm another fan of the Apprentice, having made one up for the first minimalist challenge a year or two ago

We here at the Victorinox Waiter Appreciation Society respect our Waiter relatives and the views and opinions of those that have chosen to devote their love and appreciation to those relatives, no matter how wrong, misguided or unorthodox those views and opinions may be.    :D :pok:

I think Ill gift a waiter to my nephew to go along with his Classic.... meaning Ill just have to by a brand new waiter for me!

Sound reasoning and logic as far as I'm concerned.  :D

I'm really not much into the one layer SAK's, i tend to settle on two layer minimum because of comfort and basic functions i need.
But i was just browsing to some used Vic's on the used sites over here and came across this waiter for €18. It looks great, but probably won't carry it, so i'm trying to decide if i buy it or not (don't know if the seller still has it tho, haven't called yet...)  What do you guys think...?

Is that 18 Es or 18 Fs ?  (Sorry) go for it!   :)

I was just looking at my Waiter yesterday thinking about a scale upgrade. It looks nice in black.

I recently noticed that I didn't have a Waiter with nylon scales. The postman remedied this problem today.

Love those nylon scales.  Are the readily available for swapping into other models?

I don't know how easy or difficult they are to come by; these scales came with a knife already between them.  :D

Nylon scales are pretty hard to find these days, at least IMO.  +B used to sell them as did FelineVet, but last time I checked (last month) I didn't see any.
My best bet has been to purchase on used SAKs,  The last Waiter I bought used had really clean Blue Nylon scales with the Vic emblem...but it's now an Apprentice.

I know one store in Spain who sells regular red nylon scales 84 with and without place for back tool (Phillips or corkscrew)  the same for 91.
6€ both front and back scales.

They are a little bit expensive, in my opinion, adding shipping costs will make them not worthy.

Anyway if anyone is interested, I can try to get and ship them. Just PM

Cheers

Decided to just keep a Waiter in the silverware drawer since I'm always running to my room to grab a SAK while cooking/opening wine at home. It's already getting a lot more use than it used to  Galileo approves. :tu:
