The Signal really looks like a cousin to the MUT.  Great photos pietervn  :tu:.  The original Signal was ok looking but these coated ones are

Thanks Mate

They are closely related. I love the MUT, but the Signal is just a little easier to carry for my EDC needs. And now that I have the BO one my world is "nearly" complete  ;)

I guess the contour pattern on the blade is a faux damascus effect but is clever rather than naff.

Its clear when you see it in hand that its contour lines.  When I saw it I knew immediately what the pattern was.  I have seen "fake" Damascus pattern and this is quite something else.  This particular Signal is really attractive.  I have a Skeletool with that same pattern.  Neat but I wonder how long it will last with use?

I mean it gives that effect but isn't trying to be fake damascus.

G'Day,

That was my first thought too, but having looked at one and comparing it to a Damascus blade, they are very different. I will post a few comparison pics over the weekend between the two blades. I have a TexasToolcrafters Damascus blade for my Signal but sadly id does not fit properly. Their blade is nearly 1mm thinner that the OEM blade. It fits, but rubs against the awl when closing and it needs a few spacers too. It is now lying in the drawer...

Cheers,

Pete
