That would be good for astronomical appplications.

Seems like multipurpose lights are the way to go these days... remember seing GI movies with those big ones hanging on their (soldier) gear...

Really neat indeed. I'll wait for some reviews and such but from what I can see, I really like it.

What a neat change from keychain inspired lights.  I really like the concept and design.  I sure hope we see more of these insider lights.  I'm not to keen on keychain lights.

 I Have a Nitecore Tube, I really like it. But I can't, for the love of beaver, carry it as a keychain light. So I don't really have a much better alternative to carry it and I usually don't. I would like to know your reasoning on why you don't like them (keychain lights that is).

 On a side note, they have some nice solid colors now, so I'll have to get more.

I started with a Streamtlight nano but really never used it.  It dangled from my keys but I never found having a light attached to my keys really usable.  I then went to a AAA light that supposed to be a keychain light but I didn't attach it to my keys.  I ended up carrying it in my coin pocket which was perfect.  I also wanted to try out a Photon so I got one and on my keys it went.  I had too many times found the light on.  I also realized I didn't like having to hold my keys and use my light. 

For me my light and my keys need to be separate.  I don't like having to remove it either to use.  I like the form factor of AAA lights so while they are great for key chain carry I prefer coin pocket carry.
