Question about a custom Compact
on: April 13, 2017, 11:53:24 AM
Ok after many many many multitools now I just don't think anything fills my needs like the compact. However as always because of personal preference improvements can be made.

My question is does anyone have a compact with the corkscrew swapped out for a Philps and the hook swapped out for an awl qwith black plus scales for sale? Or any idea how much one would cost?

(Before anyone says it I don't have the technical ability to make one for myself.  )

Thanks you as always for the help

Or closer to home our very own Hiraethus who has done some sterling mods. Not to take anything away from Syph007 who is the King of Mods, H is just closer and works for doughnuts.  :D

Not got the time or facilities to take any mods on at the moment, but may be able to do it once I've tidied the workshop in a month or so.

edit to add: if you just wanted the corkscrew swapping for a phillips I could do that easily enough now - but if you want the awl adding then the knife needs a bit more work and would definitely have to wait.

Get a DofE, add plus scales and file the hook into an awl?

Im going to do a writeup on putting the awl on back of the scissors.  Ive changed the way I do it 3 times and now Im 100% happy.

The spring needs to be bent and ground on the rest area for the scissors action to feel right.  Easier to show pics so I will do that on the next job I have.   :tu:
