I'm the IDIOT who sold his brand new in the original package Camilius BSA Scout Knife Deluxe on eBay for $40 5 years ago. I bought it new at Scout Camp around 2002. If one of you bought it is like to buy it back.

That's horrible.   I have a hard time getting over a distinct memory of being in an outdoor retail store in the late 90's with a friend of mine who wanted a knife for whittling.  I advised that he get this one. https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/catalog/5138-camillus-new-york-usa-delrin-official-boy-scout-bsa-whittlers-knife-nib

He still has it, in badly rusted condition - he kept it in storage in his parents house for a number of years. When I told him about the potential historical significance of the knife he checked in on it and found that it had rusted inside several concentric layers of plastic storage boxes.

Anyway... I remember looking at the original BSA knife at that time and not being particularly interested.

I ended up acquiring one used many years later.

My personal favorite is a large single blade lockback franken- knife that they built with random parts when they were liquidating their stock. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/camillus-c3-sportsman-lockback-knife-mint-1

I still use that one from time to time.   It's excellent.

I was never in scouts, but I kinda stole this from my grandfather, he had it wrapped up in electrical tape and used it every summer to clean the lawn and to dig up dandelions, so as you can see it needs help, I kinda gave it to the little guy since he joined the scouts but then he backed out, before I even started working on it, so it still sits on my workstation,, but it’s a scout knife,,

Over two years without a bump to this thread!  I love the humpbacked scout patterns; here are some of mine.

Top row, L to R: Jowika, Remington (vintage), Remington (Trailhand)

Bottom row, L to R: Böker 182's.

My Bargeon is the closest thing I have to a Scout/Camp knife.  It's had a tough life before landing in my custody but it's a well made thing.

That is a beauty, Gareth!  It reminds me of the Nontron Nivette No. 38 I have, with the exact same tool set.

Nice!  Sadly mine didn't come with any chocolate.  ;)

Bargeon is an old French cutler as well, so wonder if there is at least some design overlap.

I have been re-evaluating my EDC and decided that I wanted a camp style knife to carry alongside a folder. I was able to trade into a GEC #35 Camp Knife. It is sweet! Don’t think my 2 layer SAKs will see much pocket time while this is around.

Let’s see your camp/scout knives!

I love engineers knives and scout knives.   Just a week ago I went back to our former Troop and presented on collecting scout knives and SAKs.
