PST ii with Kick pocket clip
on: April 17, 2017, 08:53:37 AM
Hi All,
This was completed a few weeks ago and in the end it was a fairly simple mod.
I got hold of some thread gauges and some taps and l measured the Kick pivot thread as 5-40 unc.
Interestingly it turns out that the PST ll pivot's are 6-32 unc.
After a few calls to a few mates with decent workshops, I found a suitable tap and drilled and tapped it out on a lathe whilst I was there.
It also needed a small amount of metal to be removed from the handle near the locking tab for the little tag on the side of the clip. I did this with small jewelers files etc.
I then ordered some suitable stainless steel button head screws and used a small SS washer as well.
Its currently in regular rotation with my modded Kick for EDC. The only thing that's lacking with the PST ii is a wood saw - but there are plans underway to sort this...
The last pic shows all the LM's I have with pocket clips.
Cheers
George

Hi All,
Thanks to the generosity of Gregozedobe, I received a SOG saw blade to fit to this tool.
Given I usually carry another blade (Swiss Army Yeoman and/or Benchmade Mini Grip) I decided to remove the average semi serrated PST ii blade altogether.
This is my first blade-less multitool and so far it's working - I love the compactness and smoth lines of the PST ii.
I know have all the tools I could need in a fairly pocket friendly format.
The only thing I can think that I may still require is an awl and this got me thinking as I had ordered a couple of Rebar awls and a saw blade from Loki (the Rebar saw blade was supposed to be used in the PST but I didn't realise that it would work). I had a standard Kick lying around so I did a quick mod to that as well and I really rate the Rebar awl.
Cheers
George
