It's a smart idea if it works. But...this is the same video I saw on another full that was longer and showed more material being ignited. Unfortunately, after watching the other video that this is but a small snippet of, it's fake. There's an accelerant on the material that is instantly igniting. It's more visible in the clip where he's igniting a crumpled up paper towel and the whole towel goes up in a flash.
Even on this vid, you watch close and the instant the tool is sparked theres a very fast over flash of ignition of some kind of light acceltetn like starting either or something. I've used firesteels, and I've never seen such instant flash of flame like that. Looks very fake and staged to me. Just my .02 cents.
