Flickr have changed the mobile site so you can now go to the desktop version and get the URL from the share page.  Still a bit of a faff, but works ok.
Yeah. But even loading your image into the app (which doesn't work) seems to be an unnecessary step here, same thing with their website. This site is nice you can add photos straight from your camera.

Other sites like bladeforums you cannot, you have to use a hosting site. So then I can understand I guess.

Sorry kaput, thought you meant with desktop.

Just downloaded and tried to use the flickr app, it won't even let me login.

Not sure who to blame here, my cheap phone, their app or kirky.

Flickr also doesn't work with the show image feature which hides the pic when quoted.

The fail yahoo flickr app.
Shortened version.
Selects version said to be compatible with my phone.
Isn't.
Yahoo says needs newer android to work with newer app version.
Phone is no longer supported so no updating android without voiding.
Yahoo says reach out to android to discuss...

Anyone here use imgur app?
How do you like it?

What version of android do you have? it works fine on my phone and android tablet. My phone is 6, but my tablet is still early version 5 something.  I only have the app installed to use the share to flickr though, I do everything else using a browser on the flickr site as the app is rubbish for it.

Jelly Bean 4. I'm happy using a browser, just thought knowing the app might be helpful to others. However upon noticing pics are dropping off the end of my photostream (a known bug unfixed for months now) it might be time to find another host.

That's good is it not?

Some threads every time someone says "nice pic" it bumps that picture again meaning it can show 5 or more times on a single page lol. I didn't want to do that if at all possible.

Sounds like imgur maybe worth a shot eh? What do you use btw.

Assuming it isn't anything you car about being out in the ether, I like to use http://postimg.org. You can upload from your phone, without an account. Then select how long you want it to exist before it deletes (there is an option for never). You don't have an account though, so once it is up it is no longer yours to delete or manage.

But the most brilliant part about it, at least using it from the phone, is that you upload... however many images you want. Then immediately after upload, you can copy all of the links for hotlinking on a forum--literally the easiest way I've ever found to do this. I can post 20 pictures in one post without worrying about the tags at all.

I think it is a good feature when the pic gets hidden in a quoted post. Keeps the page cleaner. I love seeing pics but not the same pic five times on a page every time it gets quoted.

I do use imgur and like how you can resize your pics so they aren't huge when they get quoted, another thing I don't like.

I don´t use an image hosting site at all. I used to do so, but the site went down and a lot of links were broken. This was at National Geographic Foto Community, a renowned site but no guarantees as I found out. These days I do my uploads to MTo directly. If MTo is up, then so are my pics.

Well, Photobucket is officially dead to me... They are asking for 400USD/year to be able to link my pics here!

Meaning all my pics here are now broken, I will be uploading most of them to my Flickr acct but replacing them in the posts will be nigh impossible...

there is an option to download your bucket... takers a bit and it's a zipfile. I had pics all the back from 2009 in there.

save as >> in your file of choice>> then unpack zip to the same area

Just had a look.

Some suggest that once you have removed your images, don't delete your account but rather upload an image such as this and it will appear on their "Recent Uploads".

Had to look around a bit but got all my pics now as well :tu: Thanks  I had pics back from when I started on here in 2008  The account set idle for a good number in years in between and when I came back I dusted it off and started using it again :D In hindsight I wished I had moved to Flickr or imgur then :bnghd: :D

the photographs are not the issue, as I have all my photographs saved anyway.
The issue is that all the threads are now toast...

how can you fix photographs in 5 year old posts?
