I would have love to have been able to done away with the opener layer but I really like the flat driver on the bottle opener :D If I could have had another tool in place of the can opener it would be there now ::) I may do a mod with the inline phillips and double openers in my next mod :think: I have another Champion in worse shape than my last one and will try and incorporate most of the elements from my Master Ranger and go for a slimmer SAK and even may go bladeless to compliment my Skeletool  :think: :tu:

Double openers opposite the phillips apparently doesn't work on 91mm knives - something to do with the shape of the springs, IIRC - only possible on 93mm alox according to Syph.

The thing about 93mm models is the center pin is equidistant to the end pins... This means its dead center... making flipping springs easy... and plus they don't have back tools. Thus if someone wants to mod a pio x and have the scissors open from the same end as the blade, its just easy as flipping springs...

Some points to consider for a 2in1 layer on a 91mm frame:
1. My jalox is 93mm 2in1 mod and if you notice from the pictures I've shared, the can opener is almost touching the inline phillips at the tips.
2. 93mm can opener is the same as those on 91mm
3. Inline phillips used for 2in1 layer mod should be the newer shorter version.
4. 91mm frame is shorter than 93mm

Conclusion:
a lot of work needs to be done to make custom backsprings for a 91mm 2in1 layer. Not to mention making either the openers, inline phillips or both shorter (moving pivot hole inwards and reprofiling pivot area). Doable but is it worth all the trouble?

91mm 2in1 layer would cool though... gotta admit this.

2in1 layer is definitely very challenging. I just don't have an extra inline phillips lying around to try it out.
