It is tricky to add later, that’s for sure. You might have to get the CD plus that has the scissors already  :dunno:

I keep looking a CDs but I can’t live without a pocket clip.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

You can always fabricate one yourself. It is fairly easy as i found out the other day. Have since made one for my MP400 and my Spirit

I mod all my Gerber tools with pocket clips. You do need a drill press, tungsten carbide bits, and a lot of patience. But it can be done.

You don’t even have to drill it. Double sided heavy duty tape works as well

I would like to start a brainstorming Guys.... How can we make the CD bladeless? What would fit instead of the blade?

i added a stick on clip to my gerber diesel. its not ideal and rides high in the pocket but better than no clip.
i just wish gerber integrated clips into some of their design. ease of pocket carry is a real deal breaker for me and the clips on the wave and skeletool are what make them clear winners for me when deciding on which tool i will actually carry.

Sounds like a good idea! But is it big enough to fill the holder?

Yeah, the pivot screws are kinda in the way there. I wonder if it would be possible to make a clip and attach it under those screws

I thought about using the saw holder, but i think it would be too thick to fit into that spot.

It could fit. But it wouldn't lock and it's the wrong side

The Sissors from MP600 is also to small.

We need a 3d printed alternative

Another idea ... Surge or Wingman scissors or Surge blade exchanger.  :multi:

Sended my CD to warranty repair other day cause of broken replaceable cutter and broken awl. I first asked if they could sell me cutters to it but they insisted that i send it to warranty, mentioned awl was broken and reprofiled it.

Today i received message them that they are sending me new CD to replace old one. Gotta love Fiskars/Gerber warranty, only thing they asked estimate buying time for it.

Octane? Basically the only one handed pliers designed to be carried in the pocket.

Dang i did it again and broke my cutters on Center-Drive, other cutter turned to dust.
I called Gerber/Fisksrs customer service and they told me that i get new one, i dont even need to send my old one back. It takes few weeks to arrive here, Gotta say this kinda customer service/ Warranty service is way beyond super.

I've always had good customer service from Gerber.  They're usually pretty quick about getting a replacement to you.

Excited as I just got my Center Drive. So I was wiping the tool with disinfectant(worried of the C19 virus) the black coating? anodizing? came off. I then use my finger to rub and the it stain my finger. Is this normal? Looks like weak coating there.

Definitely not normal.  I've used and abused mine, and while it's worn, it's not done that.

I think the coating is black oxide so, yes it is normal for a while. Then it stays on till wear and or scratches develop a patina. Now go an enjoy such a great tool!  :like:

:like: Great advice Juan!  I don't have many black oxide tools, so that didn't occur to me.  Mine bailed me out of a dead car battery the other day.

Bought my first sliding Gerber when they first came out as a kid.  Its when I learned stainless could rust.  lol. I really like this new Centerdrive.  Looking forward to adding it to the carry rotation.
