Riddle and SAK with copper handle

Hi, guys!
I was modding a SAK few days ago (I will show it later) and I found this interesting piece inside. What is it? Do you know?

I think I know what it is, but then I cheated and looked at the rest of Samek's photos - so I'll keep quiet for now. :oops:

Yes, it's  a long nail file spring. I saw it for the first time.
Now you can see the rest of the knife:

What technique did you use to make the copper scales? Lots of filing?
