Sure, if you have any request let me know and I will see what I can do. Can't promise anything on the short term though. Want to do some of my own stuff first (also for reasons of exercising and getting the hang of it again… last time I did this was 18 months ago)  :salute:

Loving the jig Michel... :like:

Had to look at the pic a little longer... Guess I’m just used to assembling the knife layer last for SAKs with backtools (corkscrew / phillips facing up)... Last In First Out method...

Can’t wait to see your next build finished...

Actually I bought that XLT 18 months ago with the purpose of tearing it down, but at that time I coulnd't do it. So it was already living on extra time for the past 18 months  :D

Thanks! To be honest I didn't really think about which order to assemble it in, and now that I think about it: you're right. When I assemble it, it will be face down with the corkscrew layer being added last, and the bushings already being in place on the front, so this tool won't work for assembling a SAK.

A well, the main purpose I made this tool was for testing purpose, to make mock up layers and see how it works, like on this picture:

I'm sure it will be of great help for that purpose  8)

Did some testing, and the next mod will probably be a 2 or 3 layer one, with layer 1 having a pruning blade and an inline awl (harvested from a 93mm), and layer 2 having a big blade and a combo tool. I would prefer the back layer to have philips screwdriver instead of a corkscrew (only because it's less bulkier than a corkscrew, not because I expect to actually use the backside philips screwdriver). The problem however is I don't have a backside philips screwdriver, so I would still need to find one or acquire a donor.

Still considering the third layer, which would have scissors.

Preparing some pins...

Drilled a hole trough the piece of wood and using it to prevent the pin from bending during the peening.

Here’s a mock up of the next mod. In the final assembly the layers will of course be switched (the layer you see in the front now, will be the back layer because of the corkscrew opening).

Also I’m still considering adding scissors, especially since I have plenty of scissors now... because I found this box of spare parts, a generous gift from Magentus, in my mailbox today :woohoo:

Thanks again Mags!

Been doing some work on the next mod.

Putting it together:

Cutting off the pins:

Then the filing and tapping starts. Finished one pin. Will continue next week.

Congratulations Glenfiddich!  Excellent work and fun to see your process.

I made myself a wooden jig for my alox builds, but yours is much nicer.

Also, can I just say how cool the laser sight on your drill press is?  I'm using a 60 year old Craftsman and lasers weren't even an option in the 1950's, sadly.
