Boker Tech Tool Scissors
on: May 10, 2017, 12:57:21 AM
Can anyone who has one of these tools weigh in on the quality of the scissors on these things?

The 3 is about $15 more expensive than the 2 ($30 vs $45), but adds the scissors and awl.
Would you say it's worth the price bump?

The scissors are good for harder tasks like zip-ties, not so good for soft materials...

Thanks for the links!

Looks like you went through a bit of an ordeal with some of the features  :-\
I really like the form factor and blade shape, but the secondary implements being substandard aren't really selling it when I already have a drawer full of SAKs. Well, maybe the 1 is worth a look still. On Amazon it costs slightly more than the 2, despite having nothing but the blade

It was/is a very promising line of tools, but according to the Boker sales rep for Switzerland (and I have to admit I only heard it second hand, so I would not vouch for that information) there is no future development for the line planned.
Makes me kinda sad because this could be a really good tool.

I have nothing bad to say about the scissors, but avoid the ones with pliers.
Other than that (and the too powerful lock) these tools are really good. Blade is of course the best part.

I'm not an expert on these Bökers, but my TechTool scissors are just fine. They cut everything just like vic scissors cut.

Well, problem is statistics, same as every review... I only had ONE CityTool and mine did fail on soft materials (strings, chip packaging, see original thread) etc.
So, maybe I got Monday scissors, maybe you got an exceptionally good model (maybe they were manufactured in different places). It is good to know that my scissors are the low-point, bad then that this slipped QC. I've had many Vic scissors, none had issues.

With Vic scissors you can cut paper directly, but with Boker ones you have to hold straight the paper the let the scissors cut. If not, they will bend the paper and jam...

Had to try. Any angle I try they cut perfectly and wont fold the paper. I am using just basic printing paper here. How new/old version you have?
I have the Deluxe Tinker copy with carbon fiber scales. I bought it 2015.
